VBAR

The VBAR (Wet verduidelijking beoordeling arbeidsrelaties en rechtsvermoeden) is a Dutch law that clarifies when someone is genuinely self-employed versus effectively an employee. It introduces fixed criteria to combat false self-employment and a legal presumption of employment for freelancers charging below around €32.24 per hour. Both clients and freelancers need to assess their working relationship against the VBAR criteria.
