Unemployment benefit (WW, Werkloosheidswet) is a UWV payment for employees who lose their job through no fault of their own. The duration and level depend on employment history. As a freelancer you have no entitlement to unemployment benefit — this is one of the biggest financial risks of self-employment. Some clients try to offer freelancers income security arrangements, but these often raise false self-employment concerns.
