The Netherlands has concluded tax treaties with dozens of countries to prevent the same income being taxed twice. The treaty specifies which country has the right to tax each type of income. If you work abroad or receive income from overseas, the treaty determines whether the Netherlands or the other country taxes that income. Relief or exemption prevents double taxation.
