Solvency

Solvency shows the extent to which a business can meet its long-term obligations. You calculate the solvency ratio by dividing equity by total capital. A higher ratio means less dependence on debt and greater financial stability. Banks and lenders look at solvency to assess whether a business can repay a loan.
