Phytosanitary certificate

A phytosanitary certificate is an official document issued by the competent authority in the exporting country confirming that a plant product meets the plant health requirements of the importing country or the EU. The certificate is mandatory for imports of unprocessed or minimally processed plant products such as spices, grains and fruit from countries outside the EU. The NVWA checks the certificate on arrival in the Netherlands. Without a valid phytosanitary certificate the shipment is not admitted.
