Peppol (Pan-European Public Procurement OnLine) is an international network for the secure exchange of electronic invoices and business documents between companies and government institutions. Via an accredited Peppol Access Point you receive a unique Peppol ID for sending and receiving invoices. In the Netherlands, e-invoicing via Peppol is already mandatory for businesses invoicing the government. From 1 January 2026 the obligation also applies to invoicing Belgian VAT-registered entrepreneurs.
