Minimum hourly wage (Netherlands)

The minimum hourly wage is the statutory minimum wage expressed per hour worked, regardless of contract size. From 1 January 2024 the minimum hourly wage in the Netherlands is €13.27 per hour for employees aged 21 and over. By switching to a minimum hourly wage instead of a minimum monthly wage, employees working fewer than 40 hours per week are more fairly protected. On 1 July 2024 the minimum hourly wage was increased by an additional 1.2% to strengthen purchasing power.
