Freelance rate

A day rate or hourly rate is the amount you charge a client per day or hour worked as a freelancer. Your rate must cover all your costs: business expenses, tax, pension savings, insurance and non-billable time (administration, acquisition, holidays). As a rule of thumb, freelancers in the Netherlands average 1,000–1,400 billable hours per year. Also consider the market rate in your sector.
