CN code (Combined Nomenclature)

The CN code (Combined Nomenclature) is an eight-digit product classification code used in the European Union for customs declarations on imports and exports of goods. The first six digits are based on the international Harmonized System (HS), the last two are specific to the EU. The CN code determines which import duties, VAT rates and other obligations apply. For food imports the CN code is the starting point for all further NVWA and customs requirements.
