Childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag)

Childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) is a financial contribution from the Dutch government to parents towards the cost of childcare. The benefit is applied for through the Tax Authority and the amount depends on parental income and the number of hours of care. Parents can only claim childcare benefit if the care is provided by a registered childcare organisation or foster care agency listed in the National Register of Childcare.
